WARRANTY F.A.Q
For your peace of mind, all products sold by Unicorn Air are covered by 5 year Domestic parts / 2 year Commercial parts and 12 months labour warranty.
How long is the warranty for an air conditioning unit?
This varies from manufacture to manufacture. Most units come with 5 year warranty for domestic purposes whereas the same units come with 2 year warranty for commercial properties.
What documents do I need to prove my warranty?
You will need the invoice with the model and serial number of the unit installed at your property. There should also be the date of installation and the installers licence number.
In what circumstances can my warranty not be honoured?
This can be in cases where the unit has not been installed by a qualified technician or when you have not followed the size recommendation of the installer. Ensure that the unit you are installing is not too small or large for the area to be cooled.
What happens if the unit fail due to improper installation?
In these cases the manufactures might back charge the installer if they find fault installation. No cost would fall upon you.
I have never got my unit serviced. Would this affect my warranty?
This varies based on the manufacture. It is recommended both ducted and split system should be service once yearly.
How long is the labour warranty offered by you?
We currently offer 12 months warranty on all installation. Warranty includes accessories such as pipes, vents, ducts, dampers etc. Gas leakage is also covered in the warranty. Electrical interconnecting is covered under warranty. Any work performed by a licensed electrician either organised by Unicorn Air or by the customer is not covered.
Why is your labour warranty less than your competitors warranty?
We believe in proper installation and quality products rather than giving longer warranties. If a unit does not fail to operate in 1 years time then if would not fail to operate in 5 years time due to the installation. The unit might only fail to operate due to a manufacture fault which is covered for 5 years.
I don't think my unit is working. It is still under labour warranty?
Ensure that there is no flashing LED light on the system. Make sure the system is plugged in. Make sure you are operating in the right mode i.e. heating or cooling. Ensure that you have not set a timer or have set an appropriate temperature. Lastly switch the unit off and restart after a few minutes. If all fails then give us a call and we might be able to help you over the phone. If a visit is still required it would be booked in for a suitable date and time. Please note if no fault is found with the unit or installation and is deemed to be a user error then a callout fee and hourly fee would be charged.
I don't think my unit is working. It's not under any warranty?
